The following contains spoilers for Anyway I’m Falling In Love With You Season 2, Episode 4, currently streaming on Crunchyroll this Winter 2026 anime season
I know Episode 5 of Anyway I’m Falling In Love With You is probably going to drop the second I blink. I’m a little behind this week because I have been really sick since last Friday. So, if you’re here with me to talk about Mizuho’s love life, I’m sorry if I’ve kept you waiting.
Episode 4, “A Miracle,” felt like it flew by for me. It was a sort of in-betweener. It didn’t feel like a lot was happening, but it ended on a big, heartwarming moment. This little review will probably be on the shorter side, mostly because I’m still pretty sick. Looking at the screen makes my eyeballs hurt.
OMG!!! Is Airu With Toya In the Future of Anyway I’m Falling In Love With You?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again until it happens. I need to find this manga, so I can immerse. So I can know what’s happening when it happens in the Anyway I’m Falling In Love With You anime. Ever since we met Toya in the last episode, I find myself wanting to go back and see where else he might appear. Seeing him show up at Shuugo’s restaurant like he’s part of the gang tells me my little daydream for Airu is coming true.
I now want Airu and Toya to live happily ever after forever. At this point, they are the only couple I’m truly rooting for. I’m sure Kizuki has a good reason for whatever is going on with him in the future, but he causes Mizuho a lot of unnecessary pain. I want to put my support on Shin, but I feel like it’s a lost cause.
Then, there’s Shuugo. He’s in there plotting out winner take all as the third suitor. But seriously? I don’t feel like we’ve had near enough proof from Shuugo that he should win anything. He does come out this episodes hero, though, so… maybe he is onto something.
Airu Coming Out to His Mom in Anyway I’m Falling In Love With You

After the hard time Airu faced when he ran away, and the grief he caused his mother, it was nice to see them talking after the holiday party. With his dad drunk on the couch, he tells his mom the truth about himself. That he confessed his feelings to Kizuki.
She accepts him so easily. He’s her son, no matter who he loves. It’s such a beautiful, touching scene, and it continues to give me hope for Airu’s future. He deserves love, and now I want it to be from Toya. I’m never going to stop until I know that’s a real thing happening.
Romance Is Gonna Change the Friend Group Dynamic

Now that it’s out in the open, Kizuki and Mizuho’s status as a couple is going to change things. That is Mizuho’s biggest fear during this episode. She wants to be with Kizuki. She’s in love with him. What does that mean for their friend group, though? She already knows Shin’s heart is breaking. Airu is a little broken hearted, too, since Kizuki and Mizuho are official. That leaves Shuugo, who often seems to be the one pulling everyone back together.
With Mizuho and Kizuki standing everyone up at the Christmas party they planned, it starts to feel like everything is changing. As much as she loves Kizuki, she doesn’t want to lose their friends. Seeing this, Shuugo brings everyone together at the beach before dawn. It’s a reminder of their bond, that no matter what, nothing will come between them.
That being said, things are definitely going to change. There will be far fewer group gatherings, with Kizuki and Mizuho focusing on spending more one-on-one time together. It’s going to hurt, but the fact that we still see mostly everyone still together in 10 years is promising.
Anyway I’m Falling In Love With You Captures the Ache of First Love Perfectly

Kizuki being isolated from Mizuho for swim practice during the Valentine’s Day holiday was such a perfect capture of that feeling. You know the one. He hasn’t called. He hasn’t texted. What if he’s not interested anymore? Feeling like she has to reach him, she takes her Valentine chocolate to him, but the coach doesn’t realize she’s Kizuki’s girlfriend.
He sends her away, which leaves her feeling devastated and a little lost as she heads out to find her way home. She doesn’t feel like herself. Acting like a girlfriend all of the sudden. Baka mitai, as they sing in Yakuza/Like a Dragon. What a fool.
But then Kizuki comes running after her. He’s so upset, worried sick about her. When he starts yelling at her, she doesn’t even know what to do. It’s such a dramatic moment when he takes her in his arms. She came all that way alone. At night… How is she going to get home without getting lost?
Their love is so new and pure at this point, it’s hard to imagine how they get to where they are 10 years later. It’s sweet, and it makes me go back to rooting for Kizuki, even though just thinking about future-Shin makes my heart crack. What a mess! I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Anyway I’m Falling In Love With You Season 2, Episode 5 on a Scale of 1 to 10

I can’t get enough of this anime, seriously. I said I wasn’t going to blather on and on because I’m sick, and here I am almost 1000 words later. This episode was great, especially getting to see the impact of their relationship. And not just on the two of them, but on their friends, too. Things will change, but they can all survive it.
This week’s episode gets an 8 from me. I loved it, but the two halves felt like they could have been full episodes on their own.
